i'm sure its possible, but my neighbor is a car dealer and he always jokes that if the car were to blow up, if you left your keys in there that damn beep would still be going off...

shut the door - or watch movies in your house like a normal person?

I dunno - my protege had the same issue, but I used to just push my foot against the pin in the doorjam to shut it up.

I know that the circuit that has the door chime is on the same fuse as the horn and cruise control. I think the dealer called it a rotator-somethng and that it was located in the steering wheel. So, if you could find that, or find the actual chime you could remove it and replace it with a resistor.

I had to replace mine after it shorted, and I was pissed cause the beeping came back. I had to do it to get my horn back, being from New York I felt naked without it.

maybe instead of removing the fuse for the horn and cruise control, i could make a switch to turn that fuse off?
