    Help...subie Crisis!!!

    Im not sure whats wrong with my 04 wrx...when I get on it subie is fine but around 4000-4500 it feels like there is no power and then once I hit 5000 it goes away....WHAT THE HECK??? Maybe somethin to do with the wastegate??

    Ya thats what I thought at first but....if it truly was turbo lag wouldnt it be at the beginning??...i mean it wouldnt lag right in the middle???

    You are running a vf39 turbo with no EM thats why your car is goin nutz. Your ECU is probably sensing a knock and retarding your boost. You can't just throw on a huge turbo with no EM! Not to mention god knows if you have the right restrictor pill size. Park the car and buy EM or swap on the stock turbo until the engine management.

    +1 to the above, I thought about that when I first read your mods now I think you are crazy. Not changing EM when changing a turbo

    Thing probably runs like crap

    Jesus...well without EM the reason you are feeling the hestatation is probaly due to the OL/CL switch going on. And the vf-39 just exploits it. I wouldnt drive the car in boost (or at all if you can) without getting EM.

    Took a while but stock turbo is back in....running ok so far(didnt run like **** to begin with...just the lag at 4500). What would I do without you guys...LOTSA LOVE!!! Strange thing tho...ive had the other turbo in for about 9mo...and when i 1st got it, well we all know how drivin goes w/ new mods...nothin was wrong until now...and i havent even been pushin it like i used to...

    I'm scared that you might have caused permanent harm to your engine NAT.

    I would pull all the spark plugs and do a compression test. If you were pushing that setup hard with no EM, detonation was almost certainly occuring. I fear we might not have helped you in time.

    EDIT:

    Did you reset your ECU after reinstalling TD04 turbo? If you didnt do it now.

    Spark plugs changed this morning...to be exact it was about 2 hr ago...and it was reset...

    Subie wasnt a daily driver until 1mo ago...took it out every once in a while maybe 2x a week at MOST...and it was to go get dinner, around the block kinda bs...

    Still dying up top 4500RPM's?

    Shoulda done a compression test while you were there.

    You inspect your IC hoses when they were off?

    uh...didnt do that...might need some help as far as that goes, but i got on the freeway to go to school and tested it all out, no weird sounds or sh** and didnt bog out at 4500
