    hood not latching

does anyone know what could cause the hood not to latch on an 06 wrx? it seems like the spring is not working im not sure. when i pull the release it seems very loose for some reason. also, it goes down and clicks once into the safty, but sometimes wont go any further, or will go down a little more but not all the way so it can close. anyone else with this problem? suggestions?

Try spraying some WD-40 in the latch. I had a similar problem with my 02, I had alot of trouble closing the hood then sprayed the latch & resolved the problem.

Had the same problem on an 02. Spray the latch with lubricant and it should be fine.

Was your car hit in the front or have something repainted?
