    ...same here w/20+ years of oil changes I never found the need to change a washer but I always have a spare handy. I use a torque wrench so perhaps I'm not distorting the washer. Either way, it's cheap insurance,,,just that I've never found the need.

    Anyone else notice how much smaller the OEM filter is than pretty much any other filter (Fram, etc..)??

    The small filter size has something to do with keeping the filter farther away from the exhaust, I beleive...
