Today i was driving on the highway at about 10: 30 at night and decided to hit my max speed since the road was empty. I got to about 120-125 and my car started whining like it was gonna blow up. Was that the fuel line about to be cut or was the engine being hurt?
I heard that only automatics have a speed limiter at 140. The manuals are not speed limited, but drag limited to 155. That is what I have heard, but it might be wrong.
There was a guy not too far from my hometown (southern wisc) that got a ticket for going over 150 mph in his wrx. It was all over the news, high speed chase.
Yeah thats right the 5mt's are drag limited around the numbers in my previous post. Although there must be a limiter somewhere otherwise why would cobb on their map notes move the top speed limit to 186mph??
hmm maybe it has a limiter higher so if the laws of physics were to some how disappear then it wouldn't go too fast. :rotfl: Like a back up limiter and 170 or something.
...Advance table to promote smooth
transitional (low RPM to high RPM) acceleration. Raised speed limiter. Moved Speed
Limits to 186 mph. Increased boost cut to 17.98psi at sea level.
If it helps at all, on a long, empty stretch of highway in the desert, i rode along side a z06, and i hit 160, and the revs were still climbing steadily. Im at stage 2, 06 tr.
