So today I tackled my 30k service - ya know, oil/filter change, fuel filter replacement, diff/tranny fluid change/coolant flush/brake bleed.
I say I tackled it, I guess I did everything but the brake fluid and coolant flush
Not sure if they are necessary yet - as my coolant "via autozone test" is A OKAY. Brake bleeding will be done later this week.
I fixed all 1st gear grinding problems by putting 2 quarts of SYNCHROMESH and 1.7 Quarts of Mobil 1 Sythetic 75 weight synthetic gear oil in my tranny, and then added .8 quarts of rear diff fluid.
Fuel filter change was flawless - notice significant "peppiness" aka throttle response improvement.
Hoping to figure out a way to dispose of all this petroleaum in an environmentally friendly way.
Had quite a few metal shavings on tranny magnet - not tons, but some. Makes me feel good to know I got it all out though -
Wasn't strong enough to break my drain plugs on the rear diff - had to use a socket wrench powered by a floor jack to loosen them - neat little skinny guy trick.
NOTES: DO YOUR 30k Service, its great!!
HOW BAD IS IT THAT I DiDN't CHANGE MY COOLANT??
