I had warranty denied for the known TSB for the fuel leaking onto the engine block on an '02 WRX. The car is stock, but I pissed off the wrong people and they effectively blacklisted me from all warranty work. It's not right, but the truth is that the warranty has so much ambiguity that even if you went to court, it's not likely that you'd win. They can afford to pay a lot more for defense, and if you lost, there's the possibility you'd also be screwed out of their expensive legal fees. Sadly, since you went through the ordeal and paid up, there's nothing you can do now.

Don't have the car in my hands yet...

I accepted to paying for the labor but I haven't actually done so but it is documented by SOA I guess. Didn't have time to pick up the car yesterday.

Do you guys believe there is something else I can do to not pay labor?

i am just at a loss of words on what to say. i will try to get some more input from out service dept and techs tomorrow to see how they feel about this and what they would do/think in this situation....
Did you find out any technical details on this?

Odd, I have a customer bringing in his WRX tomorrow for his fuel smell to be fixed under his Extended Warranty. He is a frequent customer and always has his services done by us so I am taking care of him.

I still agree with ray from the other thread on that (i think it was ray that said it -- maybe trainrex)

two dealers denied the warranty fix for the fuel smell, so i would think if two deny it, there is something they are seeing that causes it to be denied.

"To accept a favor is to sell one's freedom"

OK?? I have yet to receive any offers of favors.

Grayson - the only things the dealerships around me see are dollar signs. You either give them your hard earned money, or you get it in the ass. There is nothing in my state to prevent gross abuse of denying warranty, so it's routinely abused. BBB does nothing. Attorney general does nothing. But go ahead and believe that my wife's '02 WRX wagon AT that is completely stock is giving them some reason to try to gouge me out of $500. It must be the child seat that makes them think it's abused.

Or just maybe there are some dealerships that are crooks.
