First of all, the factory maintenanence manual recommends an oil change every 5k-7k miles. Also, mobil 1 syn oil is known to be good for at least 5k. It doesn't hurt the car to change it early but it does cost money and that hurts the car.

The tires don't need to be rotated unless they wear unevenly.

I am sorry but you are incorrect.

Yes the manual states 1 thing, but just because an oil is good for such and such mileage, doesnt mean you should. Even on the bottle Mobil 1 states be sure to follow manufacturers guidelines.

Tire rotations alone do not prevent uneven wear. They help with wear among all the other tires and keep the AWD from having issues over time with tires that have a variance in circumference. However once a tire is in an uneven wear pattern it is too late, you can't correct it.

I did not mean that tire rotation prevents uneven wear. I meant that if unless one set of tires(either the front or back) wears faster than the other, it does good to rotate them for many reasons.

Well good call on that and didnt know that they were specific to tire companies. But what I was getting at was with my winter tires that have a stiffer compund, I rotate them every 6K. But with my RE070 I rotate them every oil change at 3500 miles because they are a softer tire so the tread depth changes at a more drastic rate.

Yeah because the treadware rating is based on that brand tires base tire. They test all their tires verse the base one to figure out the rating. So a tire with a 300 rating isnt going to be the same among all brands because Goodyear didnt test their tire with BFG's base tire, they all use their own.

I see where you went with the softer tire, which is correct. They will wear faster than a tire with a harder compound. I just didn't want other to think they can compare tire ratings and expect something from it.
