Question Dome Light dun come on when doors open

    hiya all,

on my 02 wrx wagon, for some reason the dome (light when the doors open) doesnt come on when the doors open even when the hatch door open but the truck compartment light comes on. please help??

I have already check the fuse ,it wasnt burnt, and I have already replaced it.

the most confusing part is that if I manually turn it on by the switch it will come on
I have dissable the DRL will that affect the lights too?

In my 04 there is three different settings on the interior light, Check that. One is on constant, one is on when door is opened, one is off when door opens. Hope this helps

Is 'dun come on' really that much easier to type than 'don't come on'?

I just don't understand you people.

Try the middle setting. I believe that's the one where it won't be on when the doors are closed, but turns on when a door is open.

    Question

I have got the setting to the middle one already, but it just dont come on at all when I open the doors.

of cuz I know there are 3 setting: OFF, dimming (when doors open) and ON

on OFF setting of cuz there isnt anything happen
on Dimming setting there isnt any current or voltage reading
on ON setting the light comes on as usual

would it be a grounding problem?? or would the DRL daytime running light have affect the out come??

I disabled my DRL's and mine works fine. Which way did you do it. I unplugged them behind the glove box.

Have you tried opening different doors? It could be the door switch, or maybe the relay in that circuit.

    Unhappy

so I have checked all the doors' sw, and they move freely which also there is no dent on the doors. when I open the doors the light on dash board indicator lights up so presuming there is a ground inside the dome light switch, cuz if the door opening indicator is on whenever i open a door all 4 side doors.

on my wagon when the hatch door is open, normally the dome light will be turn on too which it isnt happening right now. is there anyone with a schematic can help out??

    Thanks
