Stupid question - just picked up an '06 STi

I picked in up last night from the dealer and drove home in the dark. It has the HID low beams which work fine. Is the car supposed to have high beams? When I push/pull the headlight stock the high beams don't come on. The indicator doesn't light either. Is this normal?

    Thanks,
    John

edit: not only do my high beams not work but apparently I can't spell stupid either.

Trainrex - that would be great. Too early in the morning and not enough coffee yet. I'm waiting to day light to take the car for a drive. I picked the car up from a dealer that is 300+ miles away - all I've done so far is freeway driving at night in the rain.

high beams come on when the turn signal "arm" is pushed forward. pulling it towards you only flashes the high beams.

    GraysonSubaru -

Yea, that's what I though. Guess I'll make a service visit on the 1st day of ownership unless it's an easy fix. Doesn't seem to be a separate fuse for the high beams so I'm guessing it's not.

So you turned the knob away from you (all the way?) you might be stuck in "parking lights" or something weird.

And then you pushed the stick away from you.

The blue light doesnt come on?

Oh and for future reference you can edit your own posts:

    Trainrex - thanks.

DOWNxSH1FT - yea, I've tried all three positions for the headlight switch (off, parking, on) and pushing the stalk forward and even pulling it back to "flash". The low beams stay on, no flicker or anything, and neither the high beams themselves nor the indicator light come on.

Very very odd. I would just take it to the dealer. Maybe something got disconnected (or perhaps they dont connect the highbeams during shipping) and it didnt get fixed at PDI.

    Good luck and welcome!
