Newb with a problem.

I searched for my problem/ question first, but maybe I don't know what its called. Anyways I've had my 02 WRX Wagon for about 2 months now, and about a week ago a problem started. Go WOT in 3rd, reaches 4500 rpm, hits about max 14psi and then falls to 10psi then it goes to 14 psi. Back and forth. Shift. Same thing, etc etc. Basically it feels something like a speed govenor but still accelerating. Pause 1-2 secs, accelerate, pause 1-2 secs, accelerate, etc. But when I lauch from 1st it rarely happens. Car setup: 3" TBE, Turbo XS BOV (don't need goin to put stock one back on), performance air filter (brand unknown). I reset the ECU after I bought it. Fuel cut, boost leak, whats goin on here? I plan to replace the fuel filter, clean the MAF, and put some injector cleaner soon to see if that helps.

Any suggestions or comments? Anything will help. Thanks

Either your wastegate needs adjusting or the more common problem, your boost solenoid. Some people have cleaned the boost solenoid while others have replaced it. Mine still does it to this day but I live with it and try not to floor it when cruising in 4th or 5th.

Update:
-Switched to 3/16 restricor
-Put stock bypass valve back on
-While there, put on samco silicone intercooler tubes and recirc tube
-Adjusted wastegate 1 turn clockways, then switched back
-Installed Cobb intake (it sounds nice)
-Reset ECU after each

Ahhh nothing helped. To express my level of frustration, I tried to accelerate on the interstate and got passed by a new Chevy Malibou. WTF!
