    Wubba wubba Sound...wha??

I have an '04 WRX and I am the second owner. WHen I am going over 60-ish mph, i am hearing an inconsistent "wubba wubba" sound that seems to be coming from the front left side of the car. Upon buying the car, I had all the maintenance checks done and the alignment checked....but still hearing the noise (especially around corners)

I checked the wheel bearings, but they seemed fine...I hope somebody can help me figure out what it is.

I say bearing. Especially if it gets louder when you corner.

How can I be sure? I tried checking for verticle and horizontal play in the wheel while it is off the ground...it didn't seem to be much. I am used to working on my '69 camaro and am new to the import car world.

if it's a bad left front wheel bearing, the sound will be like a dull hum that changes pitch depending on speed, make more noise during a right turn, and less during a left.

If the noise is only coming on at a certain speed, and the steering wheel seems to pull left, I would point towards a shifted belt in the tire.

Bad bearings tend to sound similar to that sound when you drag a cement block through concrete.

I'm noticing the same thing in my 03. It's like a light metallic rubbing noise that get faster in frequency as you drive faster, and also is louder during right turns. It still make the noise in left turns though.
