    I just purchased an '06 STi.

    Do I NEED to get a turbo timer? Does Subaru have one?

    How soon can I (or should I) switch to synthetic oil.

    no you dont need a turbo timer until you get an aftermarket turbo... i dont even think subaru makes one... its a waste of money for you right now... i would wait till after your break in period to switch to synthetic oil too.

    have a turbo timer, only cuz it was given to me, only had to buy the $20 harness
