Hmmm, so maybe when you were cornering, the gas in your tank would slosh to one side or another... leaving the only undirty part of the sock dry?

I used a Citgo gas station almost religiously back when I had this problem and have since not returned. ... I don't know if dirty gas from their pump was to blame or not... I haven't had the problem since then. I am the 2nd owner of my car however. Maybe the previous owner let it sit w/gas in the tank for too long and it sludged up. So many possibilities. At least I can add that problem solved to my troubleshooting tool box.
    2nd WRX...
    More than meets the eye.
