To all suby gurus! Im only boosting 6 psi..help!

As the title states, im only boosting 6 psi. I recently replaced my stock td04 with an 06 td04 and now my car wont boost. I checked to see if my gauge was off. It wasnt. I checked to see of there were any leaks anywhere. There were none. I took the hose that conncts to the nipple on the wastegate actuator off and it spiked up hard. I didnt let it hit full boost but it felt better. The only other thing i can think of is the factory boost controler. Any ideas before i go to SOA?

I'm currently having the same problem; initial research indicates that the boost solenoid sometimes fails, and the usually results in the boost being limited to 6-7 psi. So I'm in the process of trying to source one; I'm hoping to get one this weekend. When I get one I'll let you know how it goes.

i figured out the problem. Its the wastegate pill. There is a small brass pill that restricts the airflow to the wastegate actuator. I replaced the hoses not knowing that the pill was in there. So i went to subaru, bought the pill and bam, my car is back! Thanks for your input though

When you replaced the turbo did you put the stock resistor pill in or not?

Also it sounds like you are running off of wastegate pressure...........

Where is this pill located? Actually in the lines?
