I still think 7500 is what God and Subaru intended to say, but thx anyways.

Since it seems to consume some oil, I'm going to change it every 3750 from now on.
    1. My driving probably qualifies as "severe driving conditions".
    2. If I'm going to put one quart in between 7500 mile intervals, I might as well put in 4.8.

    Thx again fellers.

This is one of the only cars I've ever owned that doesn't use any oil that I can tell. I've done two oil changes already and only during the break-in period did I notice any oil loss (and that was barely any).

    Oil consumption

I got rid of my last car (PT Cruiser) because it consumed 1 quart of oil per thousand (used Mobil 1); took Chrysler to arbitration and won! My REX "consumes" 1 quart per 3K which is the most I have ever experienced (PT excepted) with a variety of different cars. While I am not concerned, it is still a little high.

There are no visible leaks and I use Redline. I've never had a problem with Redline before and don't expect it is the oil.

My car makes about 1/4 quart disappear every 3k miles (the oil change interval listed in the owner's manual for severe/turbo duty).

(That is when my turbo oil seal isn't gone and blowing out out the exhaust! )
