    Premium to regular ?

I don't race my wrx. I don't mod the car, either. Will using regular gas instead of premium have a big effect on the car?If the answer is that my 0 to 60 times will suffer, I can live with that.I'm only concerned with not hurting the engine. Anybody know for sure what the effect might be?

the manual says that on a wrx, you can only use 87 octane for emergency situations only. the engine will probably start knocking.

The car is made for the good stuff. It is a performance car. Nothing below 91. Ever.

you can use regular if you want to have major engine problems....middle grade is only supposed to be used in emergencies where 91+oct is no available but then you must fill up w/ 91+ asap...basically the decision is yours on what you want to do....but what it basically comes down to in the end is if you cant afford the extra dollar or two a tank then you shouldnt have bought the car in the 1st place

I swear this is the same person re-registering to ask the same question just to get under our skin.

The car requires premium, much like a desiel truck requires deisel. It's an easy answer
