    Short Shifter Rubbing

I installed a short shifter to my 2015 subaru WRX STI Limited edition. Since the upgrade when i am in 6th gear it sounds like its rubbing or vibrating. Also if i am in neutral and i take the shifter to the right ( towards 6th gear) it makes a rubbing sound. I have had a subaru mechanic look into it and states he doesnt see anything. Thoughts?

What brand short shifter did you install?

Did you confirm that the shift linkage does not make contact with the linkage tunnel when in gear? Sometimes you have to bend the tunnel to accept a shorter throw.

Right, so you may need to adjust the shift throw a bit longer so that it doesn't contact the tunnel. Usually this is worst in 5th gear.
