Is my Power Steering going out?

Hey whats up guys I am new to the Subaru World! got my 05 WRX! but besides the point, my question is if my power steering is going out or bad? seems to be a little stiffer then it usually is, when I turn (for example) into a parking space or 90 degree turn I feel the tension and then gets easy again, and occasionally I would hear a "POP" sound when turning, correct me if I am wrong but I dont think it would be my axels or anything, has this happened to anyone or know what is going on? I would highly appreciate the Info and help!

Check the belt/tension and fluids first. Could be either of those and they're much cheaper to replace. My 08 had a similar problem which turned out to be the belt being the culprit.
