Whats up guys, so. I ended up with a 2002 WRX SRP Wagon.
EJ205 had a spun rod bearing.
So i found an amazing buy on an EJ20K with confirmed mileage.
with my budget i jumped at the engine.
I was told it had a cut wiring harness and no ECU.
Motor arrives, i quickly find out that my current wiring harness
on the new engine is missing plugs for some sensors, and a bunch of various differences.
so i swap to the EJ205 intake and EVERYTHING associated.
I swapped all of the hard pipes on the block itself, the sensors, wiring, intake etc.
Here is where things get Cloudy...
the previous owners mentions that the EJ20K WILL NOT run with the EJ205 ECU.
even after swapping the intake, sensors blah blah blah.
after researching further, people are saying the heads, camshaft, and crank shaft need swapped.
problem is the engine is already in the car, and i have limited access to an engine hoist now.
So the dilemma at hand is, Do i look for a JDM EJ20K Engine harness and ECU and swap the
JDM stuff BACK onto the engine (what a PITA) or do i search other alternatives ?
Can anyone give me some advice please. i am fairly new with the subaru world.
but very mechanically inclined, this is not my first run around.
Would a Cobb access port fix my issue with an EJ20K flash on it?
