    Slippery shoes

After driving and racing with MT for decades, yes decades, I made the bonehead mistake of starting in gear with clutch in, and wearing a new pair of Merrells, my shoe slipped off the clutch on my 2015 ltd. result... A destroyed work bench in garage and $2100 damage on my new wrx. 1st insurance claim EVER! My fault... Just a heads up to others.. A combination of poor procedure, metal pedals, new wet soles, and being in a rush. Oh well. She will be as good as new in 10 days. Aggh!

Holy cow! I can only imaging how startling and fast that all happens. Thank goodness for insurance (and better driving shoes).

Interestingly, the old 2.0L wrx that I have would just stall if I dropped the clutch in first gear. The new car must have better low end torque.

Depends who your insurance company is. I've had about 4 or 5 claims with Progressive, only at fault was $3k in suspension damage from a big pothole...and my rates didn't move.

woo that sux. i have a pair of merrel trail gloves that dont respond well to the clutch or brake when wet. but ive had them for years and so far any clutch dumping has been in parking lots so far without dammage. just rolled eyes and chuckles at the wrx owner that just killed his car at a stop light....
when my friends come up, i hear, "you sold the camarrrroooh.....HOLY BLEEP A WRX!"
Ya has that effect on me too.

A lot of insurance companies have some kind of accident forgiveness.
I have Commerce Insurance, they allow one at fault accident and don't raise rates. For no fault accidents never raised premiums, neither did 50/50 accidents. Hope you have no issues there insurance companies suck.
