WRX 15, CEL, P0606, Reflash...acceleration in low gears still an issue

    Dear WRXers:

On July 11th I pulled to a stop sign, warm day, AC on, and when I started to pull away in first gear had a loss of power/no acceleration. I pulled over, stopped the engine, restarted, and had a CEL. CEL cleared after about 10 ignitions. Prior to CEL first gear acceleration was fast, easily burst me to 30 if I wasn't careful. Now engine maxes at 20.

Engine code read from dealer on July 15th was P06060. Engine was cleared and road tested. They said "drives fine." While this is a factually true statement, does not drive like before is also true (see acceleration note). Was persistent that issue was not resolved and after a month had field technician in the area who could reflash the engine. Which was done today. Once again, acceleration issue persists.

I asked to have the field tech road test the car with me which he did with plug in monitor on turbo feeding data to his laptop. He indicated "I don't see anything" but would forward on to Fujitsu motor rep in New Jersey to look at. Although I have indicated since 7/11 there is a performance issue no diagnostics have ever been performed on the engine by Subaru tech, including the field tech today. When I asked he said, "I wasn't aware there was a problem". As I persisted he agreed to look under the hood, said he saw nothing that looked strange.

The only other issue that I can reflect on that seems odd is within my 70 days of ownership there have been a few times that car has turned over on initial ignition. This seems strange to me with a new vehicle. However, each time, it has turned on second ignition.

Dealership rep tried to tell me it I might be a) remembering how it accelerates differently than it actually did, b) the air temperature might cause a change, c) my fuel choice might cause a difference. I'm sure I remember a, b and c were constant after CEL in early July and problem persisted.

What are the questions I should ask to try to get this problem resolved?

    Greatly appreciate your thoughts.

    Jerry
