    I doubt it.

The turbos that you may see online selling for that price could be eBay junk. I'd not bother.

If your turbo has failed your more realistic options are to find a used replacement, find a new or used upgrade, or rebuild your existing turbo. Of these options only the used replacement will be priced around $250 -- unless prices have dropped dramatically and I didn't get the memo.

You're also forgetting the additional $$ required for supporting mods to run an uprated turbo. At the least figure:

    $450 for injectors
    $100 for a fuel pump
    $900 for a TMIC
    $400 for a downpipe
    $400 for a tune

So you might cheap out and buy a junky e-bay TD05-16G turbo, but you'll need an additional $2250 to run the turbo... and that's if you do the install yourself.

okay so I found what's causing the noise, and boost leak.

This line/hose ... whatever it is. It's not the turbo. Any idea how to get this fixed? Seems like I have to remove a few things, including the intercooler..
