Tiiming belt replacement went better than expected

Just like to start out with a thanx to those that chimed in your advice is invaluable. This was my first belt on an interference motor. The one thing that I came to understand what happens with this motor is that at the point of belt removal the valves go zero-lift or closing. I finally finished up on 4-12 at 3AM. Course you can tell I started quite some time ago. shift work. I wanted to make new as many parts that I could ie. hoses and crank seal, except cam seals. Replaced oil cooler lines with Gates #19929 old one very bloated after 12 years as well as water pump and radiator hoses with new belts. Used that Gates timing belt kit. All went well.Click image for larger version.

after blowing out that toothed idler gear right next to the waterpump i dont regret installing that gates kit for a second! glad everything went well and you caught some maintenance issues while you were torn down. terrible time to skip on a swollen hose. ....we all know what would have happened a day later lol
