    2001 wrx overheating

    Hi clubwrx please im in need of help.. i recently replaced my turbo on my 2001 wrx with another which are both same type i put it all back together and took it for a test run now my boost guage aint working also car is overheating the guage went almost up to HIGH what have i done wrong whats the problem please help me ?

    i just looked at the turbo reservoir tank near turbo and that was nearly empty so i topped it up could that have been an issue ?

    You need to "burp" the cooling system. Put the car on a flat surface and remove the turbo reservoir cap. Start the car and let it come up to operating temp. Make sure you have the heater all the way to high heat

    You might also want to raise the front end of the car up about 6 inches. Sometimes air pockets get trapped even when burping the system. I've heard people trying this trick in their wrx and worked like a charm. You'll also want to cycle the fans on and off a few times.
    And always burp from the highest reservoir
