OP, you're right to keep with the Subaru coolant. The car's just too new to mess around with mixing different coolants. If needed just go and buy a gallon from Subaru, also mix only with distilled water, just to stay on the right side of things. You MIGHT be ok with other, but why risk it? It's not like we're talking major money here. And we all know you gotta pay if you wanna play...

No need to mix anything. Subaru super coolant(blue) comes pre mixed 50/50. If you take it to the dealer they will probably just top it off.

So went to the dealer today and talked to the guy at the service counter. He said the wrx is notorious for "using" coolant and that I must be driving it a little too hard. He told me to top it off and just keep an eye on it but it shouldn't be a problem.

With time you may see the rubber tubing that goes into the overflow container turn white. This may be what he was talking about.
The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry. Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms, 1929
