Dealer messed up my intercooler fins!

Took my car in today because the dealer forgot to pop in the bracket that holds the vacuum lines to the intercooler. The tech called me outside to show me that he couldn't find a way to pop it in. I had to show him that it actually slides in on a track. He started pushing down on it and when that didn't work, he took my car back to the shop to "FORCE" it in....... This is what I saw once I got home. Click image for larger version.

I'd demand a new one. Fins get bent normally, but it looks like they damaged the whole lower section of the intercooler. Unacceptable. If they can't do a proper install they should not accept the job.

Dude I was soooooooo pissed!!!! I called the service manager right away and they said they would take care of it and order me a new one. Should have it installed and ready to go by next Friday.

Looks like it might have been dropped. Glad you are getting a replacement.

Technicians simply do not get paid enough to give a crap about anyone's vehicle. I'd rather pay a little extra and get something fixed once and correctly the first time at a specialty shop, regardless of having a warranty that would cover the work. It's just not worth the hassle to deal with imbeciles.

That fact that the technician didn't understand how to slide a hose over a line is embarrassing in itself.

Salary has nothing to do with it.. That "tech" could have been making 125k a year and still pulled that boner. Money can't fix stupid.
