Thumbs up 04 wrx idle issues?

    Hey,

I went to look at this 04 wrx today, exterior was 7/10.

    has 83k miles on it

salesman said the guy did an sti tranny swap on it

didn't take it for a test drive yet but so i cant judge how it drive's but it sounded alright.

only problem is the idle is iffy, it starts and idles at 1k then dips to 500-700 and sounds like its about to stall then it jumps back up to 1k, i revved it a few times and it seems a little bit of a delay. ( kind of reminds me when my jeep had a ****ty o2 sensor )

Anyway the salesman said the mechanic looked at it and he pointed to this piece

So was just wondering what this piece is, and if this is a buy worth buying. its listed for 12,995 but i would of course work him down to at least 10-11k if its worth it. lemme know what you guys think. Thanks.

    04 WRX
    83K miles
Transmission swap (READ: it was either previously modified to beyond the capabilities of the transmission, the PO didn't know how to drive, they beat it like a $5 prostitute, or a combination of the three)
    $13K

Is it "a buy worth buying"? Not a ****ing chance...

Aftermarket inlet says (to me) it has seen an aftermarket turbo in its life.

I'd pay 7k for that car. That's probably what it's worth in the condition that it's in.
