    No Reverse

    Hi all I'm back again!
02 wrx wagon 5 speed, won't go into reverse. doesn't even feel like its trying to go in. I have tried 1st then going into it, rocking it and even had my friend push it a few feet while I tried it. Linkage seems ok and all other gears work fine.

Keep doing the subie-shuffle.. It'll eventually slip in. Also try shifting from 2nd to reverse

SQ. Any chance you need a tranny fluid change?

A bent fork could unfortunately be the cause. Hope that's not it. Good luck getting it in! Don't force it.

Brand new fluid and the fork looked fine when we put it back together. The tranny did sit for almost 2 years without fluid in it, while I played daddy daycare for my little one. Its the scooty's mix if your wondering. would it cost alot to fix if I need to pull it? Does the travel of the fork matter? All of the other gears work fine.
    thanks much

How old are your bushings? Have you checked the mechanical operation from the shifter to the clutch?

everything in the car less then 5000 miles but it was in a frontal accident. Feels like something is locking the reverse gate out, it does not even go down into the gate to start with.
