    2004 Timing Belt Help

Hey guys I'm getting ready to do a timing belt on my 04 WRX. The car has 110,xxx miles and I'm on the original timing belt. With that many miles, am I driving around a ticking time bomb? I know they have to be done around 90k or so but I need to know if I need to let it sit until it can be done? Also any advice about how to do it is welcome by all means! I'm capable of doing this but it is my first one on a Subaru!

105k miles is the change interval.

I have a write up on it in my sig line.

You can buy a gates kit, plus all the tools you will need at http://www.rallysportdirect.com/.

    I recommend getting:

Along with some subaru coolant and a few other things.

the gates kit with pullys, idler and belt is a life saver. one of my pullys blew and nearly shreaded my belt. the kit is pricey, worth Every penny! i came within a few blocks of piston to valve crunching. at least on my 02 anyhoo.

oh, the above links are stress relief on a screen. i wonder how many of us have done this job looking at a computer screen(or phone,,,,,or both) with those same posts. i did and now have almost 15k miles since without issues.

I had the site up during timing belt weekend. Put an old Mac out in the garage. It's staying, it's become part of the tool kit.
