I was drifting in the snow the other night, I was at about 5000 rpms when I blew my intercooler pipe off. It was running like crap till I figured it out. Now there is like a thud when the bov lets off. Is there a way for me to test the bov. I think I may have blown it too when the pressure built up. I had the boost set to 18 now it goes to 20.
Pls. specify brand of valve, model of car,

Check to make sure the vacuum line is correctly attached to the BOV..
It's the stock bov for the 02 wrx but I have an ej22 and I did check everything seemed good I have the bov off right now..
Can you open the valve by hand? Is it smooth, or does it seem to catch somewhere?
Ok the stock valve is generally resilient. Maybe the hose is damaged if not disconnected.

What exact mods does the car have? Did you notice anything else wrong when you fixed the IC hose that came off? As MF asked, does the BPV operate smoothly by hand?
