'13 WRX Air Filter Clips

I'm trying to put in a new air filter and can't figure out how to get the air intake off so I can get into the box with the filter. How do I get these plastic clips off without breaking them?

Easy, unscrew the push clips half a turn holding the air duct, then there is a small nut under the the frame right by the headlight, unbolt that, loosen the tightening bands holding the air intake hose. Then unbolt the bolt at the bottom right next to the intake, take out the box, open and replace filter.

So the plastic clips don't actually pop out?

They do, half a turn, then pull them straight out.

^^^This. Also as you pull it out the surround should come off too.
