Hey everyone. I own an 08 STI and have about 77,000 miles on it. Getting a screech from the power steering when cold all of a sudden(only when wheel is turned), when it warms up its good. Is this an issue?

Yes this is an issue. Your belt is slipping. I'm not sure if you can tighten the belt or need replace it. From what I know these cars use a stretch belt with no way to tighten. Someone needs else needs to verify if its possible to tighten the power steering, and alternator belt.

ok did a little bit of research. The Power Steering and alternator belt can be tightened. AC belt is a stretch fit that cannot be tightened.

If the belt was the issue, you'd most likely be having issues with your alternator too. But it's always worth a shot to try and tighten it since that's free.

It probably is the belt. I just changed it a few days ago. Didn't put 2 and 2 together. Just didn't tighten it enough. Thanks everyone
