    Coolant Problem

    Hey guys I have a quick question. I have a 2011 WRX with the mods in my signature. I jumped into it tonight and when I was driving down the street less than a mile from my house I noticed that I had loss heat. Then I noticed the car was overheating. I turned around and went home. In the garage I opened the hood and saw the coolant overflow tank was almost empty and I couldn't find a leak anywhere. Also it smelled strongly of maple syrup (meaning coolant burning somewhere.

    I turned it off for 5 mins then turned it back on. The overflow tank didn't change but the heat worked. The car read warm but didn't over heat (at idle). I had been driving the car all day without any issues.

    Has this happened to anyone? Ideas? Other things to look for? I worry about a head gasket but its such a new car 20k mi and not beaten.

    Pressure test the system if you cannot find a leak.

    Just a quick update, I came after diner and checked under the car again in the garage (it's been sitting for a couple hrs now) and I did find a small amount of antifreeze on the ground. It was in the middle of the car just under where the black plastic under engine piece (not sure of the name of it but for aerodynamics?) stops. Tomorrow I'm going to take the plastic piece off and see if I can tell where it might be leaking from???
