Just bought my first subaru help if you can

i just bought an 02 wrx wagon. im a diesel guy so im lost. got it at an auction cheap dont no any past history. drove the car 3 times and on the third time i got on it a little bit and when it started to build boost it fell on its face. didnt die just dropped rpms liek a dead peddle. drove normal for a mile, gave it some gas to try and recreat the problem and it did made it to a friends house about a mile away driving normal parked for 5min drove 1/4 mile cut out then started sputtering and died. started it again and it idled good put it in gear had clutch about half out and it barley had enough power to move itsself. died and wont start. i visualy checked for boost leaks and changed fuel filter. any ideas would help, im new to this world thanks guys.

it also has 126k and only mod im aware of is full exhaust. check engin light was on i was told it was because of the cat but didnot get to scan before problem used a cheap scaner from autozone and it said there were no codes how ever the light was on.

    Yikes...

Post pics of your engine bay. We can at least start piecing together what mods are on the car. It could be anything at this point, so let's start with the basics.

Sounds like a mess to me already. We'd need to know mods on it to figure out anything at all...this could be a whole slew of problems.

Tein is a spring company so I'm assuming maybe it's lowered? Cobb is a tuner with many parts, but maybe it just has the sticker (maybe same for Tein). The car should have a tune for the exhaust, but it's not required. The place you need to start is getting the codes read to see what the car is saying is wrong. I'm assuming you don't have an OBDII reader? Since it won't run, you can't take it to an auto parts store to get them read for free, so either borrow or buy one.

its lowerd with tein springs and i think its just a cobb sticker. the thing is the check engine light was on whne i got it they said because of there being no cat. didnt get to check it before but i have 2 scanners a cheep one like at autozone and a gennis. havent hooked the gennis to it yet because its not at my house but i did hook the cheap one and it scaned and said there is no codes. obvisly there is beacuse the lights on hoping scanner just didnt pick them up and not something in ecu... not sure if that would cause it to not read codes but seems like it may.

My guess is it was reverted back to stock when it was sold by the PO. The Alt cover is missing as well.

I agree with Scott...you gotta get the codes read.
