I purchased my first wrx around 3 weeks ago. I am still getting to know the car and find out whats normal and what isn't. It as a 2010 hatchback with 55,000 miles, the only mods that I can see are SPT catback and boost gauge. Now with the problem description/story.
Shortly after I bought the car ( maybe a week) I pushed in the clutch and could hear something squeaking and was assuming a throwout bearing. But it wasn't consistent only did it here and there I THINK on cold start up.. Today after my drive home from work I left it running stuck my head under the rocker panel (e-brake on and on flat ground) and when I would push on the gas and let off I could hear a squeaking and seemed to be a slight tap/knock with it. The squeak sounded to me like a throwout bearing and the tap you really had to listen for. It would make the noise most when decreasing in rpms.
I'm hoping someone can give me better news than what I think it is and I have 100 miles to go until the 1,000 miles or 1 month dealership warranty is up so its parked until I can show up there with a little bit of knowledge. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ryan
