Cut out then CEL in 4th gear?

Noticed a few times while on the highway that while in 4th gear and somewhere between 4-5k my engine cuts out for about half a second then cuts back on and the check engine light comes on. I have no idea what's going on. I disconnected the battery and it reset and didn't come on again until the same thing happened.

This is happening on an '05 WRX Wagon that's been modded a decent amount. I don't know if it has to do with a tune or what. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why are you resetting the ECU without pulling the code?
