Just took delivery of a '12 WR Blue hatch on Thursday. Been working on cars about 15 years. Haven't opened the hood on a car and totally not known what something was. Sorry for the newb question, but what is the black plastic pump looking object next to the AC compressor? I see a sensor and a hose connected. Help a newb out. Emissions related?
Yes, it's the air pump

Pick your poison: air pump or uppipe cat... both are installed to allow the WRX to pass cold-start emissions.
