Replacing the in-tank fuel filter on an 06...

Has anyone done it? Is it a PITA? Any things to look for? I'm at 85k miles, and plan on my filter being replaced (since the book says it should be done at 60k), but based on the PITA factor I might pay someone to do it.

    Thoughts?

Haven't done it myself, but from looking at how-to's on straight up fuel pump changes, the filter should be just as easy. I don't see any issue (potential or otherwise) that would keep me from doing it. I need to order one and do it as well.

If you do tackle it, would you kindly report back how difficult it was for you?

Nope haven't replaced the fuel pump yet. No the 05+ have a globe filter on top of the fuel filter assembly and a prefilter strainer on the bottom of the assembly. The in-tank fuel filter on top is around $80, and requires you disassemble the whole thing to get to it. As you can tell since I'm 25k miles past the books recommendation, I have been procrastinating. But it needs to be done now, I think I'm losing top end. I may swap out the FP for a Walboro while Im there, IDK.

Hmm.. The fuel pump itself is an easy task so I am going to say go for it, you can do it!
