Strong smell of fuel around the turbo

Hi everyone just need a little help please i hope it's nothing major but the other day i had my hood up on my 01 subaru wrx and was giving it a bit of rev then all of a sudden i seen a puff of smoke come up from around the turbo which smelt really strong like fuel , im sure it only happens every noun then but still worried ?

All i have done is hooked up a manual turbo boost controller which is running 15 pound boost which is low ?

Umm no i didnt Drews get a tune, and do i need to get just a regular tune ? there seems to be alot of fuel fumes especially when i turn the heater on etc
