    Check engine light?! =\

I just bought an 03 wrx last weekend and just put my first tank of gas in it today... I used 89 and as soon as we left the gas station to head to the beach for vacation. Could it be because of the gas I put in it? It seems to be runnin fine all my oil water and boost gauges are fine.

Take it to Auto Zone or another store like it. They will be able to pull the code for free and tell you why it came on.

I can pretty much guarantee you it's the gas.

Get the code read asap, and don't put the car into boost.

There also the lingering question of what did the past owners do to it as in modding it. Like michael said try to pull a code to figure dignoses for starters.

I've had an OBD-II scanner for 6 years and it's the best investment I've made. I got mine for $60 and I know there are ones cheaper out there. Takes the guesswork out of it.

The fuel won't cause a CEL on a stock car. The fuel cap will though.

    A/S/L?

On a serious note, read the codes first, then come asking for help. The CEL could be for a myriad of different reasons. If you post the code, THEN we can help. Otherwise prepare for the leg humping.

    21/PA lol

&&&& if I have the Cobb access port could I plug that in and will it tell me? And what else does the access port do?

    Should I run 92 gas?

Yes, if you have a Cobb AP, you can run the "Troubleshoot" program and that will read your code. Do you know what map you're running? Likely you are running a 93 Octane Stage 2 map, so it is imperative that you use correct octane fuel. Cobb offers a 91 octane map, but you must use 91 octane at a bare minimum. Do not attempt to use "octane boosters" as they are useless.
