    Hi their peepz
I do aplogise if this has already been covered.im new to this forum but im pulling my hair out over this issue.im not a mechanic so I dnt know much tech.i know basics.i have a 1998 impreza wrx turbo jap import. When im driving the cars fine upto about 4500 rpm then as I continue to accelerate more up the rpm the car 'jerks' if thats the right term. Can anybody help me on this? One local said it could me maf sensor and someone else said its ure 02 ( lamda sensor). The car is de-cated and has apexi air filter on.

Could it be the fact that ecu needs reset

anothe thing is that when im parked at trafic lights and i start moving im driving along all of a sudden it feels lyk the cars stopped accelarating then out of knowhere it starts to accelarate again.

I would appreciate if someone could enlighten me on this

Where are you located? If you are in the U.S. and you have imported a car from Japan, keep in mind that the effective octane level of U.S. fuel is lower than Japan, so your ECU is not optimized.

I'd find a pretty good tuner and drop them a visit. Seems like whatever issue it is, it'll need fixed up eventually.

Could be anything from you maxing your MAF out (as you said), to detonation/pulled timing, to a combination of those and additional issues.

Well then the "jerking" is the least of your concerns. You will need to ensure that the car is properly tuned for the parts that were added.

    Oh boy.
1.) You have a number of mods on the car
2.) You're not sure if the car is properly tuned for those mods
3.) You're asking a question "why is my car not running properly"

    hmmm....

Get someone to remap the car to account for the modifications you have.
