    Hot thread....What i do at the shop is plug up the muffler with your hands (of course use rags not to get burnt) then have a friend listen for a hissing just because the fittings are tight doesnt meant their not leaking its happened before. Or put some rubber gloves on works just as well.

    I think some bad advice may have been given to the OP. Diagnosing a rumble or possible exhaust problem is difficult, so the correct order of operations is..

    1) Go to your local ophthalmologist and make sure your eyes are working, then
    2) Go to a psychologist and make sure you are in reality, then
    3) Get a flashlight, and
    4) Shine it in your muffler

    After completing step 4 you may feel the urge to ask for help from a helpful website. Warning though, if your mind is irritated after performing step 4 you may risk offending people, and may be banned from said website. Be cool about it and everything is a-ok.
