a lil help on my rod knock rebuild

So today on my way to work and BAM! a rod knock out of nowhere. So I am sitting here thinking on how to resolve this issue and also I am on a tight budget too so either way I am thinking about just getting a jdm motor and found a 93-98 EJ20 for a cheap price and was just wondering if it will just bolt on without changing my ecu or any harness mod or transmission. At first I was thinking of a new block but that is a little to much for my budget, just trying to find the cheapest way to fix my car and was thinking maybe if the engine didn't work than maybe I'll use the jdm ej20 block and my stock head but any help can be useful for me to fix my rod knock. Info on the car MY04 WRX 117K miles stock

You are kinda jumping the gun. Verify the issue first. Not going just be a straight drop in. Cheapest would be either buy a used EJ205 or buy a new short block.
