    A car that doesn't run due to a blown turbo doesn't need gears. Does your car run? Have you sorted out the turbo question, that was the original point of this thread?

    I'm just wondering and don't want to miss any important points etc.

    Judging by posts from #28 on, it seems he got the shortblock rebuilt with forged internals and upgraded his fuel system in the process.

    Still not sure what snail he chose, he mentiond 16/18/20G as well as 3 VF stockers...

    It seems that he had the engine fixed and turbo replaced, leaving $2K for transmission work, as his current trans has 4th starting to fail.

    so far this is what i got for the rebuild


    ACL Rod bearing set
    ACL Main bearing set
    Eagle Forged Rods
    Wiseco Pistons
    OEM Gasket Set
    walbro 255 pump
    850cc injectors
    11mm oil pump
    timing belt kit (belt, tensioner, pulleys water pump t-stat with kevlar racing belt
    greddy infometer with adapter
    20g 10cm2

    what i need to decide on next is the tranny build i have like 2 grand to spend on bc yes my 4th syncro is starting to fail on me an i want stronger gears for reliability and strength

    With 2G you are looking at either getting LGT gears (I think!) or buying a used gearbox and using that when your existing gearbox fails.

    well the lastest update is a week ago i turned in my car and so far all my parts came in and the motor is out and on monday its off to the machine shop for honing the turbo i got was a amr crx500 and decided to go fmic as for the tranny im awaiting till it fails then replace it just going to put some redline gear oil and see what happens it does not grind when cold

    just came back from the machine shop now onto turbo fmic and engine back in the shell to bad i wont be able to pay him the rest till i get back from the field gone for ten days blah
