    Well thanks for everyones knowledge and input. i contacted one of the local tune shops and they said atmospheric bov's are perfectly fine on ej25's but the big trick is the fine adjustments to be made to the bov... Im not worried about changing it out as much as i was but im still concerned about getting rid of the back firing. So far my idea of loosening up the bov so the spring is under less pressure has worked. At about 6 rpm's in first gear it would backfire but from what i can tell i have solved the problem..

    REVOLUTIONS PERFORMANCE in Colorado Springs. Pretty much the only tuner shop around here or atleast the only one that i know of.
