2.Raise front and rear so the car is level. refilling the car needs to be level, better to fill with car in the air in case of a leak.

3.remove oil fill cap and dip stick so oil will drain faster.

    4.Remove undertray

    5. get oil pan in place and remove the oil plug and crush washer.

6.Wait for all the oil to drain, drink beer

7.replace drain plug with new crush washer. dont over tighten..

8.now you can move oil pan under filter and remove that also. wait to drain, drink beer..

    9. get oil on your finger and lube the oil seal on the new filter. fill the oil filter up with oil. that way when you start the car oil is already in the system and ready to go, no dry spots..

10.screw on oil filter with hands only.

11.start filling with oil till you hit the full mark on the dip stick. re-install dip stick and oil fill cap and start the car for a minute. if no leaks re-install under tray and lower car.

12.Fill oil again till you reach the full mark again.

    13. go drive around for a minute or 2 till the car is all the way warm. check oil level, fill as nessessary.

    14.Drink beer

PS always wait to check dip stick for at least a mintue after you have added oil or when you shut the car off. checking early will give false reading.

    gonna mod this a bit

Too right on.. Also what kind of filter should I get from Pepboys or Autozone. And to be 100% and stating the obvious I need the following
    1. oil
2.oil filter (Not sure what kind)
3.Crush washer (What kind of crush washer)
... and what does the drain plug look like?

I understand some of this was intended to be funny. And it is amusing. Please keep the beer out of the process until you are finished.

Allow me to put my $0.02 in here. Been changing oil on all of my cars for about 33 years. I've learned a thing or two.

Go out and drive the car for 20 minutes or so. This is a recommendation from Blackstone oil analysis lab. Drain the oil as hot as you can stand it without burning yourself. Gets all of the bad stuff suspended in the oil.

Raise front end to the minimum to allow access. This is not needed for my Sasquatch length arms on my 2004, even with a mild drop. Perhaps it is on a 2011.

    Remove undertray.

Using a 6 or 12 point wrench or socket (6 is best) slightly loosen drain plug, but do not remove. The oil will be hot - be careful!

Bring drip pan close to drain plug.

Carefully, slowly remove hot drain plug. Take notice of how the washer was installed – the wider portion should have been on the drain plug. Dropping the plug into the hot oil sucks. I have an old long handled steel slotted spoon strainer for these occasions.

Wait for all the oil to drain. A few minutes minimum, longer if you can wait. If you are not in a garage, windy days suck for an oil change - wait for a calmer day.

Unscrew hot filter carefully. Turn slowly until it is nearly ready to come off. A rag may be needed to handle the hot last turn. Visually plan to pivot the filter 180 degrees into the drained oil. Once free of the engine, carefully place into drip pan. This takes a little patience and practice.

Wipe the oil filter mounting surface on the engine clean - be sure the old gasket did not stick.

I like to pre-fill the filter before installation. They are quite thirsty, but don't overfill. Apply a light film of new oil onto the new filter gasket.

Screw on filter by hand to at least 3/4 of a turn after the gasket makes contact with the engine. Carefully use a filter wrench if hand tightening is not enough. I mark the sides of the filter with a 1 2 3 4 using a Sharpie to indicate they have been properly tightened.

Change crush washer on drain plug. The wide side goes on the drain plug (on my 2004).

Replace & torque drain bolt to specification.

Fill crankcase with your oil of choice. Take care not to overfill.

Finally … drink beer! Preferably one that was recommended in http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/off-to...lk-thread.html

1.Oil is up to you.Subaru recommends synthetic 5w-30.Check the manual for specs.

    2.Filter-OEM Subaru Oil Filters & Washers - 6 Pack

3.The crush washers come with the filters.

4.Its hard to miss the drain plug. Its a hex bolt near the filter.
