    Weird jerk and CELs

Hey, I'm new here. My name is Alex, and I drive a 2008 WRX sedan. A couple days ago, I put on a turbo-back exhaust and everything went smoothly. But lately my car keeps throwing the CEL. I'll be accelerating and about 2nd or 3rd gear, my car will jerk forward and the CEL will come on (along with the traction control and cruise control). After letting it sit for a while, the light goes off, and the car is fine for a while more. Then it will do it again, same story. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to the club

Check the CEL and post the code please - that will help substantially.

Most likely you have boost creep and are overboosting, so you hit fuel cut. It is a bit odd that it is happening in the lower gears. Is your downpipe catless?

I don't have a way to get the code unless I run to autozone or something right now. But I have a hi-flow cat on it.
If it is overboosting, what can be done to fix it?

You basically have to port the wastegate on your turbo, upgrade the turbo and supporting mods, or go EWG. Tuning might help. There is a bunch of information in the link I posted.

Going to get the code read is the first step.

Yeah, sorry, I replied before I clicked the link you sent, that does explain a lot. Would you happen to know a rough cost of some of those fixes?

Has the car been remapped for the aftermarket exhaust?

The code came back for the turbo wastegate solenoid. What would the best option to fix this be?
And EJ257, it hasn't been remapped, the few people I talked to said I should be fine with the hi-flow cat on there...so I guess they were wrong

Yes, they were. You should not be pushing the car the way it sits.

Money being somewhat tight, will I still be alright to drive it around just for like the daily driving type stuff til I can get this taken care of? And would an external wastegate or something along those lines help, or..?

There are no base maps for an EWG that I'm aware of; you'll need to pay for a custom tune.

    Two options:
    1) Spend $85 on an OpenECU Torqued Performance StageII map, find someone local who can help you flash/datalog, and buy them some beer for helping you out.
    2) Put the stock downpipe back on until you can.

I would not drive the car on a daily basis as it sits, if it were mine.

Well ****, I was psyched to do all this and all of it got messed up with some bad info. ****ty.
I'll probably put the stock setup back on til I can work something else out, on the bright side though, I only paid $150 for the downpipe and racepipe. Thanks for all the help, ****ty news, but I appreciate your help! Maybe tax return season I can get it back up and running right haha
