2011 WRX After one year: Issues/Problems?

I have a case of the squeaky seats, hatch rattles from every direction, cracked front bumper (not too severe), the paint issue like everyone, and a nickle size dent below the small window on the 1/4 panel that was popped out 85% but resulted in paint cracks, etc.

So far I can't complain, the little things that happened sucks but what can you do? Saving up now to get the dent/paint cracking professional repaired in the spring so that I don't have to look at it any longer than I should lol.

I hear ya. Realistically its probably money that I don't need to spend to get the repair but I'm picky and will eventually work its way into my bank account for the replacement. Each time you get something replaced/repaired you always run the risk of it getting damaged again but I would shell out the cash to make myself happier lol. When I decide to get a new bumper I'll keep the crack one for winter and use the newly painted one in the summers, etc.

As for the dent, if there's no cracking take it to a PDR specialist and they might be able to get it out for you. It sounds like the area where it needs work on requires glue tabs to pull out the crease so if you don't have a crack or chipping you should be good to go. Typically a quarter size dent is around $65-$100 so you should be in that ball park if you chose to do something about it. I was told my dent was the 2% of the car where it was nearly impossible to work out perfectly. I would say 85% of the dent is gone but since my dent resulted in a crack, the tech had no way of massaging the dent out without compromising the paint even more. The result of my repair was okay/good in my book. I covered the chipping and cracking with a layer of clear nail polish to prevent further cracking and rusting. Most people that look at the car can't even see it and to be honest on the rainy days with a layer of moisture on the car, I can barely tell where it is either. For reference, my final cost was about $90.

It sucks, but imho it's worth the money to fix it, especially if it's a new car.
Sounds like you already have a couple of things to fix, so maybe you can make a single trip to the body shop, and only pay one deductible.

Agree about the PDR. Most places around here, you can email them a photo, and they'll give you an estimate. Mine cost $120, and now looks like nothing happened. But it does depend on the size and location of the damage.

That sucks, I work at a golf club and worry about that happening every day! Our parking lot is on the right side of the 9th hole, and there are a lot of hackers out there- it's so frustrating and you'll probably never see a note because the golfer probably has no idea he even hit your car, or assumes the course covers it (which they usually don't)

I'll have to throw a pic up when I get a chance. The location had me puzzled. To quote Ron Burgundy, "I'm not even mad, I'm impressed!"

Yea same story here. 2nd hole is a short par 4 with the parking lot on the right. There are a couple tall trees guarding the lot but you'd be amazed at how many people (including me) manage to clear them or slice around and end up hitting cars. You pretty much run that risk by playing at this course. I need a beater for my weekend outings. You can't really see it unless you look close, but it's always there in my eyes!

I have two dents....

one on the driver's side, very small, between the B pilar and the drip rail...was caused by a hail stone back in August or September....damn mother nature.

the other from about 10 days ago, I stopped at a local grocers on my way to work, was in there less than 5 minutes, came out to find someone dinged the rear passenger door with a shopping cart!

I will not be looking into PDR (now that I know it exists) for the door, might leave the hail dent there for character :P

Had mine since March11. Now at 7500 miles.
Currently my commute to work round trip is 6miles.

So far: Rear view mirror bracket loose(replaced under warranty free)
HID lights fogged/hazed up badly(repaired under warranty for free the reglazed them?)
Rattles in my drivers seat(have limited seems to be ok since i put leather conditioner inbetween the leather and plastic) and in the rattle rear hatch bar.
Paint scratched under front bumper bottomed out once pulling out of the gym.. Reason to justify getting a front lip soon

I'll chime in cuz I was glad (more like not angry any longer) to hear others had the squeaky A-Pillar when it's cold. Purchased in Sept 2010, 6100 miles...LOVIN' this car!!!

Here's my list:

Quick blinker issue: Resolved @ dealership
Rattle in the rear hatch area (I believe it's actually the cover...but I never remember to take it out to check, nor would I leave it out, so it's sorta moot)
Voice activation stopped "speaking". Apparently it's a setting that you can change, the volume of the gals voice. I've not verified, I s'pose it's possible one of my kids accidentally found it, but I have my doubts.
Very small dent on drivers side from one of my kids knocking their scooter off my car...forgiven
Larger dent on pass side right on the crease of the rear wheel flare...from my wife's car...(she argued it until I showed her the silver paint on the edge of her door)...it's over...

you get that stuff fixed, and it just happens again...I park as far as possible from everyone else, and enjoy the walk. My wife asks why and I tell her, I don't care about walking another 60 seconds, and I'd be pissed if it was my laziness that created a freaking dent in my door from some careless moron.

Overall, I'm thrilled with this car. I'm now trying to decide if I should get an AP, and get some more "FUN" outta this thing...

My front drivers side fender got raped with rock chips last night. The chips missed my clear bra and hit right on the exposed area... lucky huh? lol And before anyone suggests that I shouldn't tailgate, I wanna clear up that I didn't tailgate. I hate tailgating and tailgaters so that's not they way I drive. Why did I get pummeled with rocks... beats me. I heard the hits and knew I was gonna see some chips. This stuff happens so I'm not super bummed out but I felt the need to vent lol. I ordered another bottle of touch up and as soon as I get it I'll do a small write up. It seems the thin subaru paint has claimed another victim haha.

How did you manage to only have 6k miles when you've had it for a year and a half?

I live about 3-4 miles from work (that I should be biking, or walking, or wogging, or skipping, or rolling...but I don't), and unless is just me and the wife (or friends of ours we are going out with that I wanna see make their "o **** face") we usually take her car. It's a Mazda CX-9 that is more kid friendly space-wise and not a bad little car itself (tho not NEARLY as fun). I took it on a 600m roadie during the break-in period, too...

I had my last car for 9 years (it was 11 yrs old when I sold it) and it only had 88k on it.

But I baby that thing...my neighbors laugh at me cuz during the summer/warmer months I was it EVERY weekend. And during the winter, if it gets over 55 deg or so, I'll try to get out there and wash it.
