i just tried to go through deq and it didnt pass cause my check engine light was on and so i pulled the coding and got the po171 engine running lean just like you. I have an 02 wrx and i just went to my local napa store and bought some 104 high octane boost fuel injector fluid and after a half tank a gas and 2 days of driving the light turned off and i passed deq as of yesterday. 9 bucks fer the bottle so might as well try it.
